Tournées Desjardins 2026 Posters
Salon du livre de l'Outaouais (2025)
Three whimsical poster illustrations created to promote Les Tournées Jeunesse Desjardins, a trio of school tours leading up to the 2026 Outaouais Book Fair. Held February 16–18, the tours invite preschools, elementary schools, and high schools to welcome participating authors and illustrators into their classrooms, an initiative designed to foster a love of reading and connect students with the creators behind the books they love.

A Peek Behind the Art
A heartfelt tribute to the enchanting power of a good book.
Myriam, co-director at the Outaouais Book Fair, reached out to see if I’d like to illustrate the posters for this year’s Tournées Jeunesse Desjardins. When a client starts the conversation with “have fun and follow your instincts,” you know you’re in for something special. No strict theme, no heavy guidelines, just make it colorful, fun, and inspiring. Got it.
With the winds of creative freedom at my back, I began exploring how the three posters could stand alone yet feel connected. I landed on nostalgia as the emotional thread, and chose to center all three illustrations around the same character, depicted at three different stages of her life, mirroring the age groups for each school level.
We follow this young girl from the moment she discovers a new book, through her growing years, where the same book remains a constant companion, both literally and metaphorically.
The artwork will be reused for the 2026, 2027, and 2028 editions of the event.
