Short Read Decodable "The Voice in Rabbit's House"

Scholastic Education (2022)

A strange sound is coming from Rabbit’s house… but what could it be? Add a curious cast of characters, a sprinkle of humor, and the result is a cozy little story brought to life in five colorful vignettes. Part of Scholastic’s Short Reads Decodables series, this tale helps new readers stretch their phonics skills while enjoying a playful mystery.

A Peek Behind the Art

What a treat working with the Scholastic Education team on this sweet story!

For this project, I created five spot illustrations to match the rhythm and charm of the text on a single, two-sided Student Card. Each scene was designed to offer helpful visual clues for young readers, all while keeping the mood light, warm, and just a little bit mysterious.
